The vacation's over for American space tourist Richard Garriott on Friday, the 47-year-old computer games designer returned safely to Earth after a 10-day visit to the International Space (ISS). The capsule(太空艙）carrying Garriott and two astronauts successfully touched down near the town of Arkalyk, in the central Asian country of azakhstan.
Garrioot's father, former NASA astronaut Owen Garriott, was there to greet his son on the ground. After the younger Garriott went out of the capsule, his father patted him on the head, and asked, " How come you look so fresh and ready to go?" To which Garriott replied, " Because I'm fresh and ready to go again. What a great ride that was!"
Interest in space tourism has grown in recent years. Garriott is an investor(投資者）in Space Adventures, a U.S company that has organized all of the space tourist flights so far. Several other companies have also started investing millions of dollars to offer trips into space for people who can afford the high price.

II. 閱讀理解
“Equal pay for equal work” is a phrase used by the American women who feel that they are unfairly(不公平) treated by society. They say it is not right for women to be paid less than men for the same work.
People who are against（反對(duì)） the view(mainly men) have an answer to this. They say that men have more responsibilities(責(zé)任)than women; a married man is to be expected to earn money to support his family and to make important decisions, so it is right for men to be paid more. Some people who hold even stronger views than this are against married women working at all. When wives go out to work, they say, the home and children are given no attention to. If women are encouraged （鼓勵(lì)）by equal pay to take fulltime jobs, they will be unable to do the things they are best at doing: making a comfortable home and bringing up children. They will have to give up their present position in society.
This is exactly what the women want to give up. They want to escape from the limited place which society expects them to fill, and to have freedom to choose between a career and home life, or a mixture of the two. Women have the right not only to equal pay but also to equal chances.
These women have expressed their view strongly by using the famous saying, “ All men are created equal.” They point out that the meaning of this sentence was “ all human beings are created equal.”

One of the sad stories in American history has something to do with slavery. For a short time between 1800 and 1865, British and American ships would go to Africa and buy Africans from people who forced young men and women to leave their villages. They were brought to coastal (沿海的）cities and put on ships which came to the states where cotton was grown. The American farmers would buy the Africans and put them to work picking cottons. The Africans had to work for these farmers all of their lives.
It was President Abraham Lincoln who signed a law that slavery was unfair to the Africans. He thought all the black slaves should be set free. But the slave owners in the southern states did not agree with him. There was a fight over this disagreement and it was called the American Civil War. The southern states lost the war and Africans could now become free Americans. However, 100 years after Lincoln signed the law, some American blacks were not voting and did not have an equal chance to eat in a restaurant or ride on a bus.
It was artin Luther ing, an American minister who began the Equal rights ovement in the 1960's. He was successful in telling the American people that American blacks were still not equal. His most famous speech was given in the capital city of American, Washington, D.C..
His speech, I Have a Dream, is now taught in most schools of the world. artin Luther ing became so famous that the American Congress(國會(huì)) declared a special national day in his name in January. Only two other Americans, President George Washington and President Abraham Lincoln, have a national holiday after their names.
